Hairstyle Trends for Spring 2012
Hair trends for Spring/Summer 2012 are simple, elegant and easy to create styles. Vogue says models gracing recent fashion shows ‘looked as if they’d nonchalantly thrown their hair into a casual style before stepping out onto the catwalk’. Simple up-does, tousled waves and loosely braided hair are back. Most of these styles can be created either by air-drying your hair, or roughly drying it with a blow dryer. A breath of fresh air for teased, tugged and traumatized tresses.
TREND: LOOSELY BRAIDED HAIR
Loosely braiding your hair is a great way to let it dry naturally. It’s the perfect style to give your hair a break from heated styling aids and very handy if you’re rushing out the door and are tight on time. Loosely braiding your hair will not tug at your hair and is unlikely to cause breakage. Beware - tight braids that pull at your hair from the roots can cause traction hair loss and snapping.
Apply a smoothing product to towel dried hair to keep frizz at bay. Braid your hair in the desired style and tie loosely at the ends with a covered hair band. Don’t use uncovered elastic bands – they are terrible for your hair. They can cut into your hair shaft, snap it off, and cause split ends.

TREND: TOUSLED WAVES
Natural, beach tousled waves are a big hit amongst celebrities and models this 2012. Try scrunching some Philip Kingsley Curl Activator into towel dried hair to get the look. Curling tongs need not apply.

TREND: SIMPLE UPDOS
Both sleek and messy updos are trending this year.
For a polished, sleek look, slick your hair back into a bun
when it’s still damp. Use a smoothing styling product for extra gloss and shine. Again, don’t pull hair too tightly back from your scalp.
If you’re going to the beach and want to look stylish, you can get this look and give your hair an intensive moisturising treatment at the same time. Apply Philip Kingsley Swimcap from roots to tip, comb through, slick back and relax.
