Philip Kingsley Clinic Notes: Wayne Rooney’s Hair Transplant
Carole Michaelides, consultant Trichologist from the Philip Kingsley Clinic, gives her comments on Wayne Rooney’s recent hair transplant.
‘At our clinic we have seen a rise in men and particularly women in their twenties experiencing early hair loss and thinning, and there are things that can be done, non-invasively, before considering a transplant. We look at diet and hormones, especially in women, and see what else might be influencing the hair loss.
I think it is great Wayne Rooney has been so open about his transplant. Transplants carried out expertly can be very successful, but it is important to be sure of the type of hair loss first – for example we have seen some rather unscrupulous practitioners carry out transplants in cases where it can’t possibly succeed. My advice is to seek the advice of a qualified Trichologist as soon as you can if you are worried about hair thinning.’
